Another wonderful adventure in my Iconic Series, where I interpret truly iconic pieces of art. I enjoyed reading up on the paintings…in some instances new technology had changed what we know about them, and I’m literally CATCHING UP on the news since last time I studied art history! Interpreting her face was challenging, I want to make her fierce, defiant, strong-willed and maybe a little intimidating (I made her quite big). You’ll see I’ve painted only women in this series. I want them to be made by a woman…and given fresh life by someone who “gets it”. Take what you want out of that.
I cannot wait to see who buys the original, and I am also really keen to make good prints of this to sell to make this series affordable to most.
