Post 5 of 10 (art exhibition): Liquid amethyst

Purple is a divine colour. A luxurious colour. The tones of monarchy, of spiritual foresight, and magic. I hope that whomever takes this painting feels enshrined, blessed, a full of potential. I took a long time watching all the potential for purples to shift from cool to warm tones. I added gold and bronze to add to the association with precious minerals. I’d love to see this painting hanging in a grand room, decked out in golds and purple detailing.

    Mirroring ritual in art

While channeling the artwork for the colour therapy deck I stumbled upon new ways to communicate themes.

This sweet rosy pink card imbues the viewer with loving energy. This loving energy is a message, a reminder, to love yourself in all ways. Eat well, live well, think well, be your own beacon of vitality. My own journey with self love has been complex, and as I mature I see how fragile our hearts can be.

The ritual attached to this card is two fold, first you anoint yourself with oil (preferable the Aurora Alchemy oil the card was made for) and you draw the infinity symbol on your chest. This use of symbolic ritual and somatic practices are themes I wanted to reference in my artwork for the pink colour ray. So I did something I rarely do in my practice…I just went literal!

    Aqua Therapy

Colour therapy can be experienced just by gazing softly at a colour for a long time, or wearing a colour because it makes you feel empowered. Reach out if you’d like to know more. This card is from a colour ray therapy card deck being offered by Yvette Sitten in conjunction with her amazing healing oils.

    Example of channeling

Sometimes I paint to convey energy and share with the viewer. I do it in the hopes that the experience of seeing it will heal or move them. I’ve started to work deeply with multi-disciplinary healing modalities and use art to bridge the modalities. In order to get this sort of artwork I have to be a channel for whatever is coming through me. It’s the most rewarding work, and definitely co-creation with something other than me. This image (which is called Kuan Yin) is part of series of colour therapy cards meant to be used in conjunction with aromatherapy, goddess meditation, vibrational energy healing, and colour ray therapy. It’s a long and wonderful story, don’t hesitate to enquire.
