    Post 4 of 10 (art exhibition): arctic waters

    I was so patient with this one. I took my time, using the thinnest of veils…exploring the millions of moments of blue. It’s by far the most captivating colour for me. I painted while thinking of all the oceans, all the sea life (most of all my favourite the Humpback), and finally….once a modest history had been built and I was ready to see it go, I gifted the canvas with meditatively specific gold leaf markings. I say meditative because that is what this was. I am better now, for making it.

    The painting sold within hours of the show going up. I’m not surprised.

    Gold isn’t perhaps a colour, but I tried to evoke all the hues that make your eye think of golden things. I think it’s more than just the flash and glimmer of a metallic sheen…Gold is in our hearts and minds. We are Golden. And there I go again, my lyrical love!
